Chris Sharp earned his doctorate while studying at the University of Florida and University of Miami, establishing himself as a composer, arranger, and orchestrator with deep roots in both the performance and education worlds. His eleven years as a trombonist and bandleader at Walt Disney World, combined with his work as an arranger for Disney parks globally since 1984, have given him rare insight into crafting music that balances accessibility with professional sophistication. Sharp's career spans diverse commissions from Universal Studios, the Boston Pops, and the USAF Airmen of Note, while his teaching spans middle school through college levels.
Currently Director of Bands at Polk State College, Sharp remains an active clinician and adjudicator for Bands of America and Drum Corps International. His concert and jazz band works have earned repeated performances at the Midwest Clinic and multiple ASCAPlus awards, reflecting a compositional voice that resonates with educators and students alike.
