About the Arranger: Timothy Loest

Timothy Loest has established himself as a prolific arranger and composer whose works for young band reach audiences across the globe. His approach balances musical substance with accessibility, making him a trusted voice in school music programs at all levels. In 2017, his composition Cloud Gate (Reflections of a City) was performed for over 5,000 spectators at Chicago's Millennium Park, and that same year he received the Illinois Grade School Music Association's Cloyd Myers Memorial Award for Excellence in Music Education.

Loest's career spans over three decades in the classroom, where he built deep expertise in instrumental pedagogy. He has contributed to several widely adopted band methods and curriculum resources, including Measures of Success® and Warm-ups and Beyond. His music has appeared on network television programs including The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and Good Morning America. In 2022, he founded Fanfare Music Press to publish high-quality band compositions and arrangements. Loest holds degrees from Illinois State University (Bachelor of Music Education, high honors) and Northwestern University (Master of Music, program honors) and maintains membership in ASCAP.
