About the Composer: Steve Hodges

Steve Hodges studied music education at Western Oregon University and Central Washington University, earning both his bachelor's and master's degrees in the field. A retired public school band and choir director with four decades of classroom experience, Hodges has composed over 120 concert band works since 1986, many of which have become staples in rehearsal rooms across North America and beyond.

His commissions have come from honor bands and schools throughout Virginia, Iowa, British Columbia, Washington, Oregon, and North Carolina. His concert band music has also reached audiences through TBS and ESPN broadcasts. As an ASCAP member, Hodges continues to stay connected to the music education community from his home in The Dalles, Oregon, where he watches his grandchildren perform his compositions in their own school ensembles.
