His career in the Parkland School District (Allentown, PA) spanned elementary through high school levels, culminating in his role coordinating the district's band and strings programs. He now serves as Associate Professor of Music at Cairn University in Langhorne, PA.

Watson's catalog includes more than 120 published works for concert band, string orchestra, and chamber ensembles across all difficulty levels. His voice draws equally from contemporary classical music and the band world, informed by decades spent in rehearsal rooms with young musicians. His compositions have been performed internationally and at major venues including the Academy of Music in Philadelphia, the Midwest Clinic in Chicago, and the White House. He serves as exclusive composer and clinician for Alfred Publications and has authored significant texts on music education and technology.
