About the Composer: Steve Hodges

Steve Hodges holds degrees from Western Oregon University (Bachelor of Science) and Central Washington University (Master of Music Education). His four decades as a public school band, choir, and ensemble director shaped a compositional voice deeply rooted in the needs of student musicians and ensemble directors.

Since 1986, Hodges has published over 120 concert band compositions through Alfred Music, along with choral arrangements through Staff Music and Shawnee Press. His work has appeared at festivals and state conventions across multiple countries, earned commissions from honor bands and schools throughout North America, and reached audiences via TBS and ESPN broadcasts. An ASCAP member and award recipient, Hodges continues to compose while living in The Dalles, Oregon, where he remains active in community music alongside his wife, Teddie, and their extended family.
