About the Composer: Todd Stalter

Todd Stalter brings three decades of high school band leadership to his compositions. As Director of Bands at Eureka High School in Illinois for 34 years, he built a program of exceptional reach: his marching band claimed 16 Class 1A state championships, his concert ensembles earned consistent Superior ratings at IHSA contests, and his groups performed at Orchestra Hall in Chicago and Walt Disney World. He has conducted All-State Bands in Georgia and Delaware, led numerous honor bands across Illinois, and maintains an active schedule as both adjudicator and clinician at state music educator conferences.

Stalter holds degrees in Music Education and Trumpet Performance from Illinois State University, where he studied conducting with Dr. Stephen K. Steele. His band compositions reach educators worldwide and appear on state contest lists throughout the United States. Several of his works are featured in the "Teaching Music Through Performance in Band" series published by GIA, a standard resource for ensemble directors.
