About the Composer: Soon Hee Newbold

Soon Hee Newbold began her musical training at five on piano, adding violin at seven, and eventually performed as a concert artist across professional ensembles worldwide. Her compositional voice draws from the cultural and ethnic traditions she has encountered through decades of travel and collaboration on stages ranging from Carnegie Hall to the Kennedy Center to concert halls across the Netherlands, Belgium, Australia, Indonesia, Singapore, and China.

As both a composer and conductor, Newbold has built a catalog performed by everyone from professional symphonies to elementary beginning ensembles. Her work extends beyond the concert hall into film and recording projects in Hollywood, and she is regularly invited as a guest clinician and keynote speaker at major music education conferences and festivals.
