About the Composer: Irv Rothenberg

Irv Rothenberg holds degrees in Music Education and Orff-Schulwerk from West Chester University and brings 25 years of elementary music teaching experience in the Smyrna School District of Delaware. He served as Musical Director for the 140-voice Optimistic Voices of Smyrna Middle School for seven years and has directed more than ten Broadway-style musicals, establishing himself as a versatile educator across multiple genres and performance contexts.

Beyond the classroom, Rothenberg conducts two community choirs: the Chapel Choir at Wyoming United Methodist Church and the Asbury United Methodist Chancel Choir in Smyrna. His compositions are published through Alfred Publishing, and he has led workshops and festivals throughout Pennsylvania and Delaware, contributing substantively to choral music education in the Mid-Atlantic region.
