About the Arranger: Jay Althouse

Jay Althouse holds degrees in Music Education and Music from Indiana University of Pennsylvania, where he was honored with the Distinguished Alumni award. His career spans both the publishing world, where he spent eight years managing rights and licenses for a major educational music publisher and served on the Executive Board of the Music Publishers Association of America, and composition, where he has created more than 800 choral works performed internationally.

As a writer member of ASCAP, Althouse regularly receives the ASCAP Special Award for his compositions in standard music. Beyond his choral output, he has compiled and arranged vocal solo collections, co-written children's musicals with Sally K. Albrecht, authored instructional books including The Complete Choral Warm-up Book and Accent on Composers, and contributed to cultural initiatives including I Hear America Singing, performed at President Barack Obama's inauguration. He resides in North Carolina and continues to serve on the National Advisory Board of the Folk Art Society of America.
