About the Composer: Steve Hodges

Steve Hodges holds degrees from Western Oregon University (Bachelor of Science) and Central Washington University (Master of Music Education). He spent four decades as a public school music director, leading bands, choirs, and chamber ensembles across multiple grade levels before retiring from full-time teaching.

Since 1986, Hodges has composed and published over 120 concert band works through Alfred Music, along with choral arrangements through Staff Music and Shawnee Press. His commissions span honor bands and schools throughout North America, from Virginia to British Columbia, and his music has appeared on TBS and ESPN broadcasts. A member of ASCAP, Hodges now lives in The Dalles, Oregon, where he remains active in community music alongside his wife, Teddie, and continues to delight in hearing his grandchildren perform his compositions in their school bands.
