About the Composer: Steve Hodges

Steve Hodges studied music education at Western Oregon University and Central Washington University, earning degrees that launched a forty-year career directing bands, choirs, and ensembles across public schools. Since 1986, he has composed over 120 works for concert band published by Alfred Music, alongside choral arrangements with Staff Music and Shawnee Press.

His commissions span honor bands and schools throughout the United States and Canada, and his music has appeared on TBS and ESPN broadcasts. Hodges holds membership in ASCAP and has received multiple standard awards. Now retired and living in The Dalles, Oregon, he remains active in community music while watching his grandchildren discover his compositions in their own school bands.
