About the Composer: Brad Ciechomski

Brad Ciechomski serves as Director of Bands at Harrison Middle School in Yarmouth, Maine, where he earned teacher of the year honors in 2005-2006 and received the 2008 American Star of Teaching award. He holds bachelor's and master's degrees from the University of New Hampshire, where he studied composition with Andrew Boysen Jr., and currently conducts four concert bands and three jazz ensembles at his school.

Beyond the classroom, Ciechomski is an active clinician, adjudicator, and guest conductor throughout New England's district and state festivals. His compositions span elementary through college ensembles and have been featured at MENC national conventions. As a freelance drummer, he has performed with jazz luminaries including Clark Terry, Mel Torme, and Bob Mintzer, and has shared the stage with David Crosby.
