About the Composer: Melody Bober
Melody Bober studied music education at the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana before earning a Master of Arts in piano performance from Minnesota State University, Moorhead. Her training under pianists Joel Shapiro and Andrew Froelich, combined with mentorship in music education and jazz, shaped her approach to composing music that genuinely engages students.
Beyond her prolific compositional work, Bober has spent two decades teaching in public schools and additional years at the university level, while maintaining an active private piano studio. She has served as a church pianist, accompanist, and music director, and regularly presents at piano teacher conventions and workshops throughout North America. Her dual expertise in pedagogy and performance informs every piece she writes.
