Pepper Choplin

Pepper Choplin studied composition at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas, and earned his Bachelor of Music from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Over his career, he has composed more than two hundred anthems and seven choral musicals, drawing inspiration from diverse musical traditions including rock, classical, and bluegrass. His work as a church musician, clinician, and conductor has shaped his distinctive voice in choral writing.

Choplin serves as Minister of Music at Greystone Baptist Church in Raleigh, North Carolina, where many of his pieces originate from real worship needs within his congregation. He conducts and leads events across the country, engaging audiences through a singular blend of inspirational and humorous music that moves listeners to both laughter and reflection.
