Brian Balmages has built a career composing across orchestral, band, and chamber contexts, with performances at Carnegie Hall, the Kennedy Center, Sydney Opera House, and countless school and university venues worldwide. He was honored with the A. Austin Harding Award from the American School Band Directors Association, won the 2020 NBA William D. Revelli Composition Contest, and holds membership in the American Bandmasters Association. His work has appeared at presidential inaugurations and major conferences, and he currently leads publications and digital education initiatives for Alfred and MakeMusic.
