Sally K. Albrecht

Sally K. Albrecht brings three decades of experience shaping choral music for educational settings. As Director of School Choral, Vocal, and Elementary Publications at Alfred Music, she developed an intuitive understanding of what works in rehearsals and performances. Her credentials include degrees from Rollins College, the University of Miami (both M.A. in Drama and M.M. in Accompanying), conducting experience at major venues including Lincoln Center, Carnegie Hall, and The Kennedy Center, and an ASCAP Special Music Award earned annually since 1987. She has taught at Oakland University, Jersey City State College, and Meredith College.

With over 600 published choral works and 75 larger musicals in print, Albrecht has established herself as a trusted voice in school music. She is particularly recognized for her innovative approach to choral movement and her gift for crafting accessible yet engaging repertoire. Currently based in Wake Forest, North Carolina, she continues composing alongside her husband, Jay Althouse, a respected composer and arranger in his own right.
