About the Composer: Sally K. Albrecht
Sally K. Albrecht has established herself as one of the most performed choral composers in American music education. Since 1987, she has been a consistent recipient of the ASCAP Special Music Award, and her catalog now includes over 600 choral works alongside 75 published songbooks and musicals. She has conducted honor choirs at prestigious venues including Lincoln Center, Carnegie Hall, and The Kennedy Center, bringing her distinctive voice and movement-centered approach to musicians across the country.
For more than 30 years, Albrecht served as Director of School Choral, Vocal, and Elementary Publications at major educational publishers, most recently at Alfred Music. She holds degrees from Rollins College (B.A. in Music and Theater, 1976), the University of Miami (M.A. in Drama, 1977; M.M. in Accompanying, 1979), and has taught at Oakland University, Jersey City State College, and Meredith College. In 2021, she received the Distinguished Alumna Award from both the University of Miami Frost School of Music and Rollins College, where she serves on the Board of Trustees.
