About the Composer: Roland Barrett

Roland Barrett has spent his career bridging the worlds of educational and professional music. After fifteen years as Assistant Director of Bands, he joined the University of Oklahoma's composition and theory faculty in 2001, where he now teaches both undergraduate and graduate students in 20th century music. He continues to arrange for the Pride of Oklahoma marching band while maintaining an active composing practice.

With over two hundred published works for concert band, chamber ensembles, and marching ensembles, Barrett's music reaches student musicians across the country. His compositions have appeared at major conventions and on NPR, performed by All-State groups and the Dallas Wind Symphony. He is a multiple ASCAPlus award recipient, reflecting consistent recognition from the American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers.
