About the Composer: Ralph Ford

Ralph Ford has spent nearly three decades on university faculty while building a prolific output as a composer and arranger. His career spans multiple industries: he has conducted live musical productions, contributed to broadcast and commercial media, and earned recognition for his work in advertising and animation. Since 1999, he has served as an exclusive composer and arranger for the Belwin division of Alfred Music, with over 250 published titles across orchestra, concert band, jazz ensemble, and marching band.

Ford's commissions have been premiered by university, military, professional, community, and school ensembles worldwide. His arranging work began at fifteen in Panama City, Florida, and continued through his undergraduate years at Troy State University, where he directed the Jazz Ensemble and served as staff arranger for the band program. He earned his Master of Science degree from Troy in 1988 while teaching full-time on the faculty.
