John Kinyon earned degrees from Ithaca College and the Eastman School of Music, along with an honorary doctorate from Limestone College. His career spans instrumental music direction at multiple school districts, educational leadership at Warner Brothers Music in New York, and a faculty position in music education at the University of Miami.
Kinyon has composed more than 250 educational works for Alfred Music, spanning grades 1 through 3 and encompassing original marches, ballads, and overtures across varied stylistic idioms. His prolific output reflects a deep understanding of what intermediate ensembles can achieve and what young musicians need to grow.
