About the Composer: Todd Stalter
Todd Stalter brings three decades of high school band direction to his compositional voice. At Eureka High School in Illinois, he built a program of sustained excellence: his marching band claimed 16 state championships, his concert band earned consistent Superior ratings at IHSA contests, and his ensembles performed at Orchestra Hall in Chicago and Walt Disney World. He has conducted All-State Bands in Georgia and Delaware, led numerous honor bands across the Midwest, and maintained an active schedule as both adjudicator and clinician at state and regional music education conferences.
Stalter's compositions for band and string orchestra now reach audiences nationwide. His works appear regularly on state contest and festival lists and are featured in the "Teaching Music Through Performance in Band" series by GIA Publications. He earned his Bachelor of Music Education and Master of Music in Trumpet Performance from Illinois State University, where he studied trumpet with Richard Lehman of the United States Marine Band and conducting with Dr. Stephen K. Steele. He is an inductee of the Illinois State Marching Band Championships Hall of Fame.
