About the Composer: Andy Beck
Andy Beck directs choral publications at Alfred Music and has become one of the most performed choral composers of the era, with more than 450 works in circulation spanning sacred and secular repertoire, children's musicals, and vocal resources. Beyond his prolific output, Beck maintains an active role as guest conductor, adjudicator, and clinician across the United States and internationally, serving honor choirs and all-state ensembles throughout the Southeast.
Beck holds degrees in Music Education from Ithaca College and Northwest Missouri State University. He has authored several influential sight-singing and vocalization resources widely adopted in choral programs, including Sing at First Sight, Foundations in Choral Sight Singing, and Vocalize! 45 Vocal Warm-Ups That Teach Technique. As a tenor vocalist and musical theatre director, he brings practical performance experience to his compositional voice, and his work with the North Carolina Master Chorale Chamber Choir deepens his engagement with artistic choral singing.
