About the Composer: Mark Williams

Mark Williams composed over 200 works for school bands, orchestras, and choirs, establishing himself as a trusted voice in music education. His tenure teaching elementary band in Washington, combined with his role as co-author of the Accent on Achievement Band Method, shaped how generations of young musicians developed their craft. Williams earned degrees from Eastern Washington University and performed professionally on bassoon while serving as conductor and arranger for the 560th Air Force Band.

Throughout his career, Williams traveled extensively as a clinician and guest conductor across 34 states, five Canadian provinces, and Australia, sharing his compositional and pedagogical philosophy with teachers and students. His awards include recognition from the Western International Band Clinic's Gralia Competition and multiple ASCAP Special Awards. Beyond his prolific publishing output, he remained an active performer with the Spokane British Brass Band, where he served as Conductor and Artistic Director.
