About the Composer: Gordon Goodwin

Gordon Goodwin began composing at five years old, writing complete works rather than fragments. His precocious talent led him to arrange his first big band chart, Hang Loose, at age 13. This early mastery caught the attention of film and television producers, launching a career that has earned him three Emmy Awards and multiple Grammy nominations.

Goodwin's orchestrations appear in major films including Bad Boys II, Con Air, Remember the Titans, and Star Trek: Nemesis. He has written for and performed alongside artists ranging from Christina Aguilera to Ray Charles, and has conducted leading symphony orchestras in Atlanta, Dallas, Utah, Seattle, Toronto, and London. Since 2000, he has led Gordon Goodwin's Big Phat Band, a Los Angeles-based ensemble whose albums have received Grammy recognition and pioneered DVD audio releases.
