As former chairperson of the Vocal/Choral Department at the Music School of Delaware and a distinguished voice teacher, he shaped generations of singers while building a substantial catalog of original works. His output spans over 300 compositions across choral, vocal, piano, and orchestral genres, all published by major American houses.

Beyond the classroom, Larkin remains deeply engaged in Delaware's music community as Director of Music Ministry at St. Barnabas Episcopal Church, founder of the New Ark Chorale, and conductor of the Brandywine Pops Orchestra. He maintains an active schedule as a baritone soloist, guest conductor, and festival clinician, bringing his expertise to choirs across the region.
