Ralph Ford has built a prolific career spanning composition, arrangement, conducting, and music education. After earning his undergraduate degree in 1986 and Master of Science degree in 1988 from Troy State University, where he served as Director of Jazz Ensemble I and staff arranger, he spent fifteen years on the university faculty teaching orchestration, arranging, theory, and applied brass alongside his arranging responsibilities.

Since 1999, Ford has worked as an exclusive composer and arranger for the Belwin division of Alfred Music, with over 250 published titles for orchestra, concert band, jazz ensemble, and marching band performed by school, university, military, and professional ensembles worldwide. Beyond the concert hall, he has contributed extensively to media and broadcast work, including radio broadcasts, television voice-overs, commercial jingles, and news music packages for national networks. His versatility and depth of experience across multiple musical contexts inform the accessibility and musicality of his educational arrangements.
