About the Composer: Timothy Loest

Timothy Loest has spent over thirty years in the classroom building pedagogically sound music for young ensembles. His compositions and arrangements are performed by student bands across the country, and his influence extends beyond the concert hall through his work with best-selling method books including Measures of Success and Warm-ups and Beyond. His music has reached national television audiences through appearances on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and Good Morning America.

Loest's contributions to music education earned him the Illinois Grade School Music Association's Cloyd Myers Memorial Award in 2017, the same year his piece Cloud Gate drew over 5,000 listeners at Chicago's Millennium Park. A graduate of Illinois State University and Northwestern University, he founded Fanfare Music Press in 2022 to publish high-quality band compositions and arrangements. He continues to accept commissions and teaches from his extensive catalog of works published by major houses including FJH Music Company and MakeMusic Publications.
