Contrasts for Band

As the title suggests, this grade 2 selection is a study in contrasting musical styles. The trumpets open the first section with a crisp fanfare that leads into a flexible, flowing triplet pattern and contemporary harmonies. By contrast, the second section is more classical in nature, and features subtle counterpoint and driving rythmic patterns. This number is an excellent teaching piece as well as a delightful audience pleaser and will "wear well" from rehearsal to concert and beyond!
