About the Composer: Timothy Loest

Timothy Loest has built a distinguished career bridging the worlds of professional composition and instrumental pedagogy. His band works circulate internationally, and his contributions to music education extend through multiple best-selling method series, including Measures of Success and Warm-ups and Beyond. In 2017, Cloud Gate received a landmark performance at Chicago's Millennium Park before an audience of over 5,000, and that same year Loest earned the Illinois Grade School Music Association's Cloyd Myers Memorial Award for Excellence in Music Education.

With three decades of classroom experience at F.E. Peacock Middle School in Illinois, Loest brings authentic understanding of what student musicians need to grow. His works have appeared on network television, including The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and Good Morning America. He holds degrees from Illinois State University and Northwestern University, maintains ASCAP membership, and founded Fanfare Music Press in 2022 to continue publishing high-quality band compositions and arrangements.
