About the Composer: Timothy Loest
Timothy Loest has spent over three decades in the classroom, building a reputation for writing young band music that reaches audiences across the country and beyond. His compositions have appeared on network television, from The Tonight Show to Good Morning America, and in 2017, his piece Cloud Gate was performed for over 5,000 spectators at Chicago's Millennium Park. That year, he received the Cloyd Myers Memorial Award for Excellence in Music Education from the Illinois Grade School Music Association.
Loest's catalog spans publications with major houses including Warner Bros., C.L. Barnhouse, and FJH Music, alongside his pedagogical work on bestselling methods like Measures of Success and Chorales and Beyond. In 2022, he founded Fanfare Music Press to focus on high-quality band compositions and arrangements. He holds degrees from Illinois State University and Northwestern University, maintains ASCAP membership, and continues to accept commissions for band.
