About the Composer: Bethany Main

Bethany Main directs the Youth Chorus of Kansas City, a nonprofit organization committed to removing financial obstacles that keep young singers from accessing quality music education. She holds both her Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Music Education from the University of Missouri-Kansas City's Conservatory of Music and Dance, and she previously taught elementary general music and led choir programs in the Olathe School District.

Beyond her work in the classroom and rehearsal hall, Main is an accomplished composer and author whose original compositions have earned recognition from JW Pepper's Editor's Choice program. She presents regularly at music education conferences, serves as a clinician for honor choirs, and holds active membership in the American Choral Directors Association, the National Association for Music Education, and the Kansas Music Educators Association. Her work has been recognized by KMEA and the Olathe School District, including the East Central KMEA Outstanding Young Educator award in 2021.
