About the Arranger: Deborah Baker Monday

Deborah Baker Monday spent 25 years directing the Logan City orchestra program, an ensemble recognized for excellence throughout the region. She has since transitioned to guest conducting, clinical work, and mentoring, while maintaining an active composing and arranging practice. Her formal training includes a B.M.E. from Florida State University with emphasis in string education, an M.M. in composition from the University of Alabama, and advanced study at Louisiana State University. She has studied composition with Harold Schiffman, John Boda, Frederic Goossen, Paul Hedwall, and Dinos Constantinides.

Monday's catalog includes over 130 published works across seven publishing companies, with a particular focus on accessible arrangements and original compositions for educational strings. She has won the UtahASTA Composition Competition twice (2006 and 2011) and received recognition from both UtahASTA and UtahMEA for her contributions to music education. Her work as a clinician, adjudicator, and guest conductor has taken her to state conferences across the country, national ASTA conventions, The Midwest Clinic, and the Ohio State String Teachers Workshop.
