About the Composer: Sally K. Albrecht

Sally K. Albrecht

Sally K. Albrecht has established herself as one of the most prolific voices in American choral music, composing and arranging over 600 works for choirs of all levels while maintaining an active career as a conductor and clinician. Since 1987, she has been a regular recipient of the ASCAP Special Music Award, and she directed school choral and vocal publications for major educational publishers for more than thirty years, including her tenure at Alfred Music. Her work has been performed at prestigious venues including Lincoln Center, Carnegie Hall, and The Kennedy Center, where she has led honor choirs and festival events.

Albrecht holds degrees from Rollins College (B.A. in Music and Theater, 1976), the University of Miami (M.A. in Drama, 1977, and M.M. in Accompanying, 1979), and has taught in university music departments across the country. She served as Chair of the Board of Trustees for the Omicron Delta Kappa National Leadership Honor Society and received their "Pillar of Leadership" award. In 2021, she was honored with the Distinguished Alumna Award from both the University of Miami Frost School of Music and Rollins College, where she continues to serve on the board of trustees.
