Scott Watson brings three decades of classroom experience to his work as a composer and educator. After serving as Director of Bands at Parkland High School and later leading the district's elementary band and strings program, he joined Cairn University as Associate Professor of Music, where he continues to shape the next generation of musicians and music teachers.

Watson's catalog includes more than 120 published works for concert band, string orchestra, and chamber ensembles across all levels. His compositional voice draws equally from contemporary concert music and the traditions of the band world, a perspective deepened by his work as an exclusive composer/clinician for Alfred Publications and his authorship of Using Technology to Unlock Musical Creativity (Oxford University Press, 2011). His music has been performed internationally and at major American venues including the Academy of Music in Philadelphia, the Midwest Clinic in Chicago, and the White House.
