About the Composer: Scott Watson

Scott Watson spent 35 years teaching instrumental music in the Parkland School District near Allentown, Pennsylvania, where he built the high school band program and later directed the elementary band and strings curriculum across the district. He now serves as Associate Professor of Music at Cairn University in Langhorne, Pennsylvania, while maintaining an active career as a commissioned composer whose works span concert band, string orchestra, and chamber music across all difficulty levels.

With more than 120 published compositions performed internationally and at major American venues including the Academy of Music in Philadelphia, the Midwest Clinic, and the White House, Watson's distinctive voice draws equally from contemporary classical music and his deep roots in the band world. He serves as exclusive composer and clinician for Alfred Publications, contributes to their Sound Innovations series, and authored the widely used text "Using Technology to Unlock Musical Creativity" (Oxford University Press, 2011).
