Sally K. Albrecht

Sally K. Albrecht has spent more than three decades shaping choral music for educational settings, earning recognition as one of today's most prolific choral composers. Since 1987, she has received the ASCAP Special Music Award annually, and her catalog now includes over 600 choral publications alongside 75 larger works for stage and concert. Her conducting has taken her to honor choirs nationwide, including prestigious venues like Lincoln Center, Carnegie Hall, and The Kennedy Center.

Albrecht's background bridges music and theater; she holds a B.A. in Music and Theater from Rollins College (1976), an M.A. in Drama from the University of Miami (1977), and an M.M. in Accompanying from the University of Miami (1979). She directed choral, vocal, and elementary publications for major educational publishers and taught at Oakland University, Jersey City State College, and Meredith College. Her distinctive approach to choral movement and accessible writing has made her work a staple in classrooms and performance halls. She is a recipient of the Distinguished Alumna Award from both the University of Miami Frost School of Music and Rollins College.
