About the Composer: Gary Fagan

Gary Fagan is a composer and arranger whose works have been performed at prestigious venues including the Midwest Band and Orchestra Clinic, the White House, and the inauguration of former Virginia Governor Douglas Wilder. He earned his undergraduate degree in Music Education from Bridgewater College and completed a Master of Music Education at James Madison University, where he later served as adjunct faculty teaching arranging and currently works as a University Supervisor.

Fagan retired from a 36-year tenure as a band director in Albemarle County, Virginia, and has been recognized with the Outstanding Educator Award from the Virginia Governor's School for the Visual and Performing Arts and the Piedmont Council of the Arts. He remains active as a clinician, adjudicator, and ensemble percussionist with the Charlottesville Band, where he serves as Assistant Director. He holds membership in ASCAP, Phi Beta Mu Bandmasters Fraternity, and the National Band Association.
