About the Composer: Robert Sheldon

Robert Sheldon stands among the most frequently performed composers in the concert band repertoire today. His works appear on state contest lists and concert programs across the globe, and ensembles from Japan to Australia regularly perform his music. He co-authored Sound Innovations for Concert Band and has received major awards from the American School Band Director's Association, Phi Beta Mu, and ASCAP. VanderCook College of Music honored him with a doctorate in 2020.

Sheldon maintains an active schedule as both composer and clinician. He conducts All-State and Regional Honor Bands, leads master classes at universities and state music education conferences, and regularly accepts commissions for new works.
