About the Composer: Jack Bullock

Jack Bullock

Jack Bullock brings decades of performance and pedagogical experience to his work as a composer and arranger. A trumpet player who performed with the Miami Philharmonic Orchestra and Miami Opera Company, as well as with touring dance and show bands across the country, he understands how musicians work from both the stand and the podium. He holds degrees at the undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral levels in Music Education.

With over 600 published works for concert band, orchestra, jazz ensemble, and marching band to his name, Bullock has shaped how beginning and developing musicians learn. He spent 20 years teaching instrumental music in the classroom and served seven of those years as an assistant band director at the Ithaca College School of Music, where he also chaired the Music Education Department. His contributions extend to major curricular projects, including co-authorship of the Belwin 21st Century Band Method and arranging work for Music Expressions. He has conducted clinics and workshops across North America and holds membership in ASCAP since 1980.
