About the Composer: Roland Barrett

Roland Barrett's career spans decades of active work in both academia and the professional music world. Since 2001, he has served as a composition and music theory faculty member at the University of Oklahoma, where his teaching encompasses 20th-century techniques, undergraduate coursework, and graduate-level instruction. Beyond the classroom, Barrett arranges for the Pride of Oklahoma marching band and maintains a prolific output as a composer and arranger.

With more than two hundred published works for symphonic band, chamber groups, and marching ensembles, Barrett's music reaches audiences across the country. His compositions have been premiered by the Dallas Wind Symphony and performed by All-State and All-Region honor bands. He holds multiple ASCAPlus awards and has been featured on NPR, the USA Network, and at major conventions including the Midwest Band & Orchestra Conference and the International Trumpet Guild.
