About the Composer: Gordon Goodwin

Gordon Goodwin has been composing since childhood, writing complete arrangements rather than fragments from the age of five. By thirteen, he had already written his first big band chart, Hang Loose, setting the stage for a career that would span film, television, and live performance at the highest levels.

As a three-time Emmy Award winner and multiple Grammy nominee, Goodwin has scored films including Bad Boys II, Con Air, Gone in 60 Seconds, Remember the Titans, and Star Trek: Nemesis. He has written for and performed alongside artists such as Christina Aguilera, Quincy Jones, Ray Charles, and David Foster. Since 2000, he has led Gordon Goodwin's Big Phat Band, Los Angeles's premier modern big band ensemble, and continues to conduct with major symphony orchestras across North America and Europe.
