About the Composer: Ruth Morris Gray
Ruth Morris Gray brings twenty years of choral directing experience to her work at Rosemead High School, where she has shaped the music program since 2004. Her training spans performance, composition, and pedagogy: she holds a Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance and Composition from Biola University, a Master of Arts in Music Composition from UC Santa Barbara, and a California Single Subject Music Credential from Cal State Northridge. With more than 100 published choral compositions to her name, Gray has established herself as a versatile voice in contemporary sacred and secular choral writing.
Beyond the choir room, Gray is an active performer and lifelong learner who finds inspiration in travel, cycling, and literature. Her compositions reflect her understanding of what high school singers can achieve when given music that challenges them musically while remaining accessible to learn.
