Brian Balmages has built a reputation as a composer equally comfortable writing for professional orchestras and elementary ensembles. His work appears across skill levels in this collection, with performances at major venues like Carnegie Hall and the Kennedy Center. He won the 2020 NBA William D. Revelli Composition Award, and his music reaches groups from professional symphonies to school programs.

JaRod Hall brings eight years of classroom experience as a band director to his compositions. Holding degrees from the University of North Texas and Texas State University, Hall writes with an understanding of what works in rehearsal and what excites young musicians. His students have consistently received recognition under his direction.

Timothy Loest's name is synonymous with accessible, creative writing for young bands. His works are performed internationally, and his composition Cloud Gate drew over 5,000 spectators at Chicago's Millennium Park in 2017. That same year, the Illinois Grade School Music Association honored him with their highest award, the Cloyd Myers Medal.

Jack Wilds composes for a range of ages and abilities, from children's choirs to professional ensembles. His writing draws on visual art, poetry, and philosophical sources to create work that meets performers at their level while demanding authentic musicmaking. His chamber music has been performed by groups including the Attacca Quartet.
