About This Collection

Description

General concert choral repertoire for choirs at all levels, from elementary through moderate difficulty. You'll find music across secular, sacred, folk, pop, and world traditions, with voicings to suit any ensemble: SATB, SAB, 2-part, SSA, and unison arrangements. Popular titles like Carry the Light by Andy Beck and Dance! by Robert T. Gibson appear in both 2-part and SATB versions, making it easy to program for mixed-age or mixed-ability groups. Whether you're building a spring concert or a festival set, the range here spans concert openers, a cappella pieces, and arrangements with recorded accompaniment.

Highlights

Teachers keep returning to Carry the Light and Northern Lights, both by Andy Beck, for their accessibility and engagement across grade levels. Robert T. Gibson's Dance! works equally well as a 2-part a cappella piece or in full SATB voicing, giving you programming flexibility. These titles reflect what's most frequently adopted in schools, and for good reason.

Recently added

New releases include Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas arranged by Hugh Martin in both SAB and 2-part versions, Christmas Magic by Laufey for SAB choirs, and Dream as One by Miley Cyrus in SATB, all arriving in the last few months.

Composer Spotlight

Andy Beck, Director of Choral Publications at Alfred Music, brings over 450 published choral works into print, including Carry the Light and Northern Lights from this collection. His method books Sing at First Sight and Vocalize! have shaped how thousands of singers learn technique, and his music is performed worldwide.

Ruth Morris Gray directs choirs at Rosemead High School in California and holds degrees in piano performance and music composition from Biola University and UC Santa Barbara. She has over 100 published choral compositions, grounded in her two decades of classroom teaching.

Greg Gilpin is an ASCAP award-winning choral composer and conductor who has led performances at Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, the Sydney Opera House, and Royal Festival Hall. His work in Tongo demonstrates his gift for writing music that engages singers and audiences alike.

Jay Althouse has composed more than 800 works for choirs at every level and served in leadership roles at major educational music publishers. His broad experience in both publishing and composition makes his output particularly responsive to what teachers actually need.
