About This Collection

Description

The Edwin F. Kalmus collection contains nearly 5,000 titles drawn from the standard orchestral and choral repertoire, with particular strength in full orchestra scores and parts. Teachers and conductors rely on this catalog for canonical works by Mozart, Verdi, Debussy, and Schubert. You'll find complete scores, orchestral parts, vocal scores, and choral octavos across masterworks, operas, sacred music, and light concert fare, from Grade 2 through Grade 6 difficulty.

Highlights

Teachers keep coming back to Verdi's Nabucco, Part III: Va pensiero, which has been consistently popular for choral performance. For holiday programs, Arthur Harris's We Wish You a Merry Christmas and O Tannenbaum remain reliable standbys. Gershwin's O Land Of Mine, America and Schubert's Mass No. 2 in G round out the core titles driving adoption across school and community ensembles.

Recently added

Recent additions include the Raymonda Suite by Glazunov, Richard Hayman's When the Saints Go Marching In, and Puccini's Turandot (Alfano II Revised Completion) with vocal score. Tchaikovsky's Fatum and Strauss's Symphonia Domestica also arrived as conductor scores for orchestral programs.

Composer & Author Spotlight

Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart dominates the collection with 269 titles spanning cantatas, oratorios, and masses. His work appears frequently in school and community concerts, particularly the Messiah Part II Hallelujah arrangement. Giuseppe Verdi's 152 titles anchor the opera and choral sections, with Nabucco, Part III among the most performed excerpts in American high schools and universities. Antonín Dvorák's 142 titles include beloved works like the Serenade in E for Strings, a staple of string orchestra programs at multiple grade levels. Felix Mendelssohn's 149 titles round out the classical core, offering accessible yet substantial works for both choir and orchestra.
