About This Collection

Description

Accent on Achievement is the band method that has shaped beginning ensemble programs for decades. John O'Reilly and Mark Williams built this series to work across the full range of school band instruments, with the individual part books earning consistent adoption across clarinet, trumpet, flute, and saxophone sections. You'll find each instrument part paired with online audio and software, giving students multiple ways to hear and practice their exercises, and teachers the flexibility to work with mixed instrumentation in the rehearsal room.

Highlights

Teachers keep coming back to the Book 1 parts for clarinet and trumpet by O'Reilly, which consistently lead adoption across beginning bands. The flute, alto saxophone, and trombone books round out the core ensemble, while the combined percussion book covers snare drum, bass drum, accessories, and mallets in one place. All titles include online audio and software access.

Composer & Author Spotlight

Mark Williams was one of the premier composers for school bands and orchestras and co-authored the Accent on Achievement Band Method itself. Over his career, he published more than 200 works and traveled as a clinician and guest conductor to 34 states, five Canadian provinces, and Australia. His years teaching elementary band in Washington gave him deep insight into what beginning students need to succeed.

John O'Reilly authored all 124 titles in this collection and shaped the pedagogical foundation of Accent on Achievement. His systematic approach to building technique and musicianship across the full band instrumentation has made these books a standard text in beginning ensemble instruction.
