About This Collection

Description

Accent on Achievement is a foundational band method series designed for beginning and intermediate players across all concert band instruments. The series pairs method books with online audio and software, giving students immediate access to accompaniments and reference recordings. Book 1 titles for clarinet, trumpet, flute, alto saxophone, trombone, and percussion are consistently popular choices for starting band programs, while Book 2 extends the curriculum for students ready to advance.

Highlights

Teachers rely on the Book 1 method books across all major instruments: clarinet, trumpet, flute, alto saxophone, trombone, baritone, and combined percussion all have solid adoption in beginning band classrooms. The online audio and software components mean students can practice independently with accompaniments from day one, a practical advantage that keeps these titles in regular rotation.

Composer & Author Spotlight

Mark Williams was a prolific composer for school bands with over 200 published works and served as co-author of the Accent on Achievement method itself. He spent his career teaching elementary band in Washington state and brought that classroom experience directly into the design of these books, traveling extensively as a clinician across the United States, Canada, and Australia.

John O'Reilly created the bulk of the method books across all beginning instruments, establishing the pedagogical arc and musical content that make the series work at the foundational level.
