About the Author: Lois Brownsey

Lois Brownsey studied at Temple University in Philadelphia and trained at the Guitar Workshop, where she built a foundation in musical theatre and performance. Her decades-long partnership with Marti Lunn Lantz has produced numerous choral collections and seasonal works for Alfred Music, including Celebrations around the World and Inventions Rock. Beyond songwriting, Brownsey has lent her voice and compositional skills to commercial jingles for major clients and has collaborated with Sally K. Albrecht on holiday-themed choral music.

As a multi-instrumentalist and vocalist, Brownsey performed professionally in rock, pop, and blues ensembles across the United States and internationally from 1973 to 1997. She now lives in Pennsylvania's Pocono Mountains, where she co-owns Red Rock Recording Studios with her husband, a recording engineer. Many Alfred Music projects have been recorded at their studio, and she remains active as a community leader and arts advocate.
