About the Composer: Catherine Rollin

Catherine Rollin balances an active performing schedule with mentoring accomplished students, having conducted workshops and masterclasses across the United States, Canada, Japan, and Taiwan. She holds a Bachelor of Musical Arts degree with distinction from the University of Michigan and a Master of Music degree from Oakland University School of Performing Arts.

Rollin's compositional voice has earned significant recognition, including commissions from Clavier Companion magazine, the Music Teachers National Association (MTNA), and the Michigan Music Teachers Association. Her works appear regularly on National Federation of Music Clubs Festival lists, and she has judged competitions at the national level, including the MTNA Student Composition Competition and the Lynn Freeman Olson Composition Contest. In 2018, the MTNA commissioned her trio for flute, alto saxophone, and piano, Suite Detroit, which premiered at the organization's national conference; that same year, the Steinway Society featured her in concert as both composer and pianist, showcasing her ASCAP award-winning Museum Masterpieces series.
