About the Artist: Sally K. Albrecht

Sally K. Albrecht

Sally K. Albrecht has shaped American choral music for over four decades as a composer, conductor, and movement specialist. A consistent ASCAP award recipient since 1987, she has published more than 600 choral works alongside 75 larger musicals and songbooks. Her conducting credentials span major venues including Lincoln Center, Carnegie Hall, and The Kennedy Center, where she has led honor choirs and festival programs nationwide. For thirty-plus years, she served as Director of School Choral, Vocal, and Elementary Publications at leading educational music publishers, culminating in her tenure at Alfred Music.

Albrecht's academic background bridges music and theater. She earned a B.A. in Music and Theater from Rollins College (1976), then completed both an M.A. in Drama (1977) and M.M. in Accompanying (1979) from the University of Miami. She has taught in music departments at Oakland University, Jersey City State College, and Meredith College. Recognized for leadership beyond composition, she chaired the Board of Trustees for the Omicron Delta Kappa National Leadership Honor Society and received their "Pillar of Leadership" award. In 2021, both the University of Miami Frost School of Music and Rollins College honored her with Distinguished Alumna Awards.
