About the Composer: Steve Hodges

Steve Hodges studied music education at Western Oregon University and Central Washington University, earning degrees at both the bachelor's and master's levels. He spent four decades in public school music education, directing concert bands, choirs, and chamber ensembles across multiple grade levels before retiring from classroom teaching.

Since 1986, Hodges has composed more than 120 concert band works published by Alfred Music, along with choral arrangements through Staff Music and Shawnee Press. His music appears regularly on festival programs and state convention schedules worldwide, and he has received commissions from honor bands and schools spanning from British Columbia to North Carolina. His work has also been featured in broadcast media by TBS and ESPN. Hodges holds membership in ASCAP and currently lives in The Dalles, Oregon, where he remains active in community music alongside his family.
